For the second year in a row, the Leon G. Cooperman Job Training Program students had the great opportunity to visit the Fox News Channel facilities in Manhattan.
Lauren Green, Chief Religion Correspondent for the Fox News Channel and friend of the South Bronx Educational Foundation received, explained and shared an amazing day with our twenty interns.
During the tour, the students watched the live broadcast of the America's Newsroom show from within. They met Sandra Smith and Bill Hemmer Co-hosts of 'America's Newsroom'. Both journalists spoke to the girls.
An unforgettable experience for the girls was being inside the control room and living right at the moment, how a TV station brings magic to our homes. The Technical Manager of the control room spent almost 30 minutes with the girls explaining the wonders and importance of their job for the station. The girls also had the opportunity to ask questions and share their thoughts.
They closed the tour with a flourish, as Kevin Lord, Executive Vice President of Human Resources for Fox Corporation, briefly shared some ideas with the interns, before lunch (which was very kindly offered by the corporation). Some of the Human Resources staff members and even the chef talked, encouraged, and shared with the girls.
We at Rosedale Achievement Center extend our appreciation to the Fox News Corporation for the amazing tour, generosity, time, and unforgettable experience which made the girls' day a total success!
