Rosedale Has Followed 12 Rosedale Alumni Through the College Persistence Program

Updated: Aug 7, 2019

For the past two years, the Rosedale Center has piloted a College Persistence Program for our high school graduates who are moving onto college. We hoped that by continuing our quintessential Rosedale mentoring that we would be able to develop a better sense of our students’ success after attending our programs. Additionally, students from The Bronx tend to face more challenges in completing four year universities due to financial, social, or academic factors.

College Persistence Program Alumni at Rosedale

Over the years, our alumni have attended schools across the Northeast such as Syracuse University, SUNY Potsdam, SUNY New Paltz, Iona College, St. John’s University, Manhattan College, Quinnipiac University, SUNY Purchase, Temple University and more. Our alumni have gone onto successful careers in education, advertising, and more, any many cite their time at Rosedale as crucial in their development as professional women.

This year, we were able to follow 12 of our Rosedale alumni through two semesters during college and had five graduate with the Class of 2019. Britney Vargas and Emely Martinez graduated from Manhattan College with degrees in Psychology. Celine Medford graduated from SUNY Potsdam with a Bachelor’s of Fine Arts. Nicole Lawrence graduated with a Bachelor’s of Education and will be entering into a Master’s program in education. Finally, Cameron Thomas graduated from Temple University after majoring in Advertising and Theater. We are so proud of all of their work and can’t wait to see what they’ll be doing in the future.
